We provide solutions for the treatment of industrial wastes and contaminated soils. By using carbon dioxide to produce materials for re-use, or for cheaper disposal, we deliver a unique combination of benefits, including significantly shorter treatment times.
Our technology in detail
We utilise an innovative, patented solution called Accelerated Carbonation Technology (ACT) that is a rapid, cost-effective treatment suitable for soil and waste. ACT can be used in both on-site and off-site operations and can be integrated into existing industrial processes. ACT is a controlled accelerated version of the naturally occurring carbonation process, which results in an improvement in the chemical and physical properties of the treated materials. The technology can utilise waste CO2 emissions from local sources, capturing significant volumes of CO2. When carbonation is used in the recovery and recycling of waste, an end product with real value is created.
The advantages of ACT
  • Rapid treatment - only a few minutes (as opposed to days or months with other technologies)
  • Waste CO2 is sequestered and converted into carbonate salts, providing carbon credits
  • The immobilisation of a wide variety of materials, including heavy metals, in carbonated products (at near neutral pH) renders them permanently non-hazardous or inert.
  • The process results in increased product density, controlled particle size and improved geotechnical properties.
  • The product can be used as a secondary aggregate, engineering fill or specialist construction materials

    • Brownfield land remediation and development
